Background:The use of autonomy and connectivity in transportation has become increasingly prevalent in our technologically driven society. The need for increased safety, production, and efficiency has led to innovations in transportation such as Autonomous Land Vehicles (ALV), Autonomous Water Vehicles (AWV), Autonomous Ariel Vehicles (AAV), and Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASV).  These transportation vehicles operate utilizing varying degrees of human control (e.g., tethered, wireless, and autonomous).
